ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project “Student Accommodation and Catering within the New Campus of the University of Zadar” was developed as the first step in delivering the New Campus, with a clear objective: to improve access to higher education by strengthening the student standard, with a particular focus on students in disadvantaged circumstances.
As part of the project, student residential pavilions with a total of 284 places were delivered (including single rooms adapted for persons with disabilities), along with a student restaurant/canteen as a key piece of supporting campus infrastructure (500 seats).

EU ALIGNMENT AND PROJECT LOGIC
The project’s EU logic is grounded in the social dimension of studying: accommodation and catering are key preconditions for access to higher education, especially for students in disadvantaged circumstances. That is why the project was structured around a clear objective and measurable results (the capacity of accommodation and catering).
The feasibility study, the competition brief for the architectural competition, and expert support in evaluating competition entries were delivered as a single, integrated process: options were developed (including competition-based solutions) and an optimal option was selected, with defined indicators and a financing logic aligned with EU co-financing, ensuring that the solution follows the project’s objectives and evidence-based indicators from the outset.
