Project OŠ Vukovina involves the reconstruction and extension of the existing school building with the aim of enabling single-shift teaching and raising the school’s spatial standard. The concept design defines the school programme for 20 class groups and 21 classrooms, including 2 special class groups (PRO), with a clear logic of connecting the existing and new parts into one functional whole.

A particular emphasis is placed on improving the indoor and outdoor spaces that pupils use every day, with the outdoor areas functioning as a place for interaction and gathering beyond school hours as well—during weekends and school holidays.

Primary school Vukovina was developed with a clear idea: EU criteria are embedded in the school’s core logic, from capacity and programme to the way the spaces are used. The project is sized for 20 class groups and 21 classrooms, including 2 special class groups (PRO) as a concrete step towards inclusion and the real needs of the founder.

The reconstruction and extension are designed so that the existing and new parts form one functional whole, while the sports hall and outdoor areas become an extension of the school day rather than an “add-on”.

Accessibility is treated as an obligation arising from the EU and national framework and is translated into concrete spatial solutions available to all users.
