ABOUT THE PROJECT

The VG Business Incubator was developed as public infrastructure aimed at fostering entrepreneurship, innovation and local economic development. The facility was conceived as a functional and flexible platform for starting and growing businesses, intended for start-ups, young entrepreneurs and micro-enterprises.

In Velika Gorica, it was delivered as the first comprehensive incubator of its kind, with clearly defined capacities and functions: 31 offices, 24 co-working workstations, meeting rooms and a 150-seat modular hall, complemented by additional spaces and equipment for skills development. The incubator is operational, and its official opening took place on 20 March 2024.

EU ALIGNMENT AND PROJECT LOGIC

This project is an example of how EU project logic is translated into demonstrable public value: instead of delivering “a building”, it delivers business-support infrastructure with clearly defined capacities and functions (offices, co-working, training, conference facilities and specialised spaces) as a prerequisite for entrepreneurship growth and the strengthening of the local economy.

Kubik plus prepared a Feasibility Study with a CBA analysis as the professional basis for defining objectives, indicators and the economic justification of the investment, in line with EU financing rules. The project was implemented with co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund under the Operational Programme “Competitiveness and Cohesion”, and the total project value has been publicly communicated at €3.477 million.
